Frodo (Commodore 64) for Dingoo Preview
=======================================
This is just a preview and there is still plenty more that needs doing.

Emulator Installation
---------------------
Copy the folder over as usual. My dmenu configuration is below. Change as appropriate.

MenuItem Frodo

{

Icon = "/usr/local/emulators/FrodoDingoo/commodore.png"

Name = " Frodo"

Executable = "./dingoo64.sh"

WorkDir = "/usr/local/emulators/FrodoDingoo"
Selector = yes

}

MenuItem FrodoPC

{

Icon = "/usr/local/emulators/FrodoDingoo/commodore.png"

Name = " FrodoPC"

Executable = "./dingoo64PC.sh"

WorkDir = "/usr/local/emulators/FrodoDingoo"
Selector = yes

}

MenuItem FrodoSC

{

Icon = "/usr/local/emulators/FrodoDingoo/commodore.png"

Name = " FrodoSC"

Executable = "./dingoo64SC.sh"

WorkDir = "/usr/local/emulators/FrodoDingoo"
Selector = yes

}

C64 Games and Apps Installation
-------------------------------
put zipped .d64 files in the 64diskimages folder ( leave the Foo1.d64 file in this folder alone and don't try to select it as it's a placeholder for the application you are about to run)

Starting a game and Controls
----------------------------
Select either Frodo or FrodoPC or FrodoSC from the dmenu.
Frodo - Fastest , Least Compatible
FrodoPC - Fast, Less Compatible (works great for impossible mission)
FrodoSC - SLOOOW, most Compatible

In dmenu you navigate to the 64diskimages folder and select your .zip file containing the .d64 file (a very common format on the internet)

In a short while you should see the blinking cursor of the commodore c64 (yeh!)

Hold Down L and press SELECT and you should hopefully have started your game/app

Dpad and button A = joystick
START = Virtual Keyboard (just the basics for now)
R = Quit

Notes:
------
Each compatiblity mode is different so if FrodoPC and FrodoSC don't work it doesn't necessarily follow that Frodo won't.

Here is a quick explanation of what the scripts do (if somethings not working).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The frodorc file is mapped to a file called Foo1.d64 in the diskimages folder. The dingoo scripts unzip your selected zip and overite the Foo1.d64 file with the contents of it.

Some things i noticed:
Sometimes the diskimage seems to get stucked, i.e. if i select a rom, the last used image loads (mostly impssible mission ^^).
The selector doesn´t like dots and empty spaces in the filename, so "example.by eule.zip" won´t work.
I get "?device not present error" after pressing L+SELECT in many games.
Frodo sometimes complains about the filesystem being read-only, does someone know, how to fix that? And shouldn´t it complain everytime?
Games that worked or me so far: Pipe-Dream and Galaxian, both work great!
No demo worked so far, except Oxydemo, that seems to work with FrodoSC, slow though and i don´t know if it should stop after one screen. If someone got other demos to work, please let me know.

This is not meant as nagging, it´s constructive critique, and i´m sure you´re aware of most issues anyways. :)

most problems are unknown so I would just enjoy the ones that are working for the moment.

Lot's to do before it's even in a position for testing.

Impossible Mission is just as great as I remember. Great job mrLogan!

I chuckled when I saw how fast it loaded. The wait for the game to load from disc was intolerable when I was 7 years old. :)

nice work, thanks for porting that mister.

Many games are working, tried Cauldron II, Wizball, Forbidden forest and other beloved...

Improvements ideas? Speed limit, disks swap, exit with select+R instead of R alone (it's terrible to exit because you grasp your dingoo to tightly when attacked by a giant bee !).

But thanks again.

I will have to try it with wizball. Did anyone else have one of those books that had all the BASIC code in it, and you had to spend a day typing in the code to play a game? I spent many weekends typing code from program books.
