Can someone put up a config file? I did export SDL_NOMOUSE=1 and saved the duke3d.cfg to /root/.duke3d but it still doesn't work. Now it runs but all I get is a blank screen.

Use command:
Code: Select all
env SDL_NOMOUSE=1 ./duke3d

Of course you have to be in Duke3d folder.

Ainu how did you bypass the login part of booting linux? I would like to start linux and launch vifm at start, but bypassing login prompt is beyond me. I tried changing inittab, but nothing works.

Alright, I'm able to get Duke3D to run fine, but how do I get save games working? They don't appear to be working...

UPDATE: nm, I got it. I had to be able to input a name for the same game...I just put in some spaces.

If you still need help playing the game, I wrote an installation guide and instructions to getting it to run, along with controls, with the proper duke3d.cfg (thanks grz3siek)

I have followed the instructions as per http://opendingoo.com/wiki/index.php/Duke3D but when I run the game I get the error "segmentation fault". I thought it may be the cfg file but if I rename the file and test I still get the same error.
Any ideas? thanks.

by the way, i remember me playing duke nukem and flying, how can i do it? and also looking through the options i've noticed that the parental control is enabled and ther's no way to disabled it, cause it ask you a password...

You could edit the ~/.duke3d/duke3d.cfg and change the password line to:
Code: Select all
Password = ""

Im not sure if this will disable parental control, but at least you will be able to do so from the game menu.
As for flying, you have to have a jetpack to do so. And then map a key for item usage.
Then after you get a jetpack and turn it on, you can ascend by the jump key, and descend by the crouch key.

Hm...does speech not work till u disable parental controls? I was wondering why duke doesn't say something about the alien bastards shooting up his ride at the beginning.

How can one enter cheats on the dingoo? (I love DN3D, but half the fun is no clipping!)
