Seems to play everything I've tried - even Bounder. Can it default to SpeedLimit On.

Also is there a limit on number of files as it only showed up to S when going through the games?

ooops... ;)

Works much better then the preview version, had problems running Katakis, but I didn't expected this one to work. Uridium seems to run a little bit too slow, scrolling isn't very smooth, was better in the preview version, if I recall correct.

I forgot to take out a limit on the file selector, I will increase or remove the limit in the next version.

Good news is that after looking at the code again the timing issue seemed to be routed into some select() function in linux (which I don't have a clue about) and I had a look at the gp2x version of the source code and it had a slightly modified version. So I transplanted the code and now the whole thing is running a lot sweeter, normal speed and no stutter that I can detect.

I will set the speed limiter to default to on in the next version.

Does anyone have any news on the vice port yet, is better than Frodo? Can I stop working on this yet?

Hi MrLogan,

At the moment your version is much better - sound is a a bit off but looks like you've fixed this. Speed is pretty perfect.

Plays virtually everything I've thrown at it - have to try different tape and disk images to get the it playing.

Any chance you can fix the MSX emulator next - needs a keyboard and a bug fix (it crashes on exit). Plays perfect.

I so love that blue screen...

Many games are indeed playable even if it seems difficult to run some weird tape format, but well, so many versions of these old games are available it's no big problem.

One feature that would be great to improve is "save states". It's possible with frodo too and would make this emulator perfect. Compatibilty is important too : it's frustrating to see that your favorite all time C64 game is not running but can we ask so much to our little dingoo...
Vice has this already but is not very compatible and slow , very slow sometimes.
And yes, to map a button to "up" would be great and certainly easy to implement (lazy to do it myself !)

But overall, the feel of this emulator is good and I hope it will improve a bit. No rush Mr Logan and thanks again for the good job.

Hi

Hopefully both emus will continue to develope. At the moment Frodo is better than Vice due to bad slowdown on Vice.

However, when Vice is running smoothly it does play beautifully. Also, Wizball plays fine in Vice whereas in Frodo the main sprite disappears.

Best to pick the best emu for each game.

Save/load state added to next version. Y mapped to Up on next version.

There is an option to turn on specific 1541 emulation (don't ask me what it means) but it might make disk images that won't load normally load ok. So if there is a particular game that no one has been able to get to load either with disk or tape then let me know and I will test it with this option.
