Dingoo A320 forum

Hi , there is a new C64 Emulator out :

But it didn't work for me , because there is no readme or sth ...

I tried it with dmenu but it says sth like : could not find kernal rom

Find out where chargen.c64,kernal.c64,basic.c64 are located.
Then edit your vicerc in your homedirectory (~/.vice/vicerc)

Example:
ChargenName="/usr/lib/vice/C64/chargen.c64"
KernalName="/usr/lib/vice/C64/kernal.c64"
BasicName="/usr/lib/vice/C64/basic.c64"

If the roms are missing you can download the windows version here http://www.viceteam.org/#download and then copy the directories C64, DRIVES and PRINTER to /usr/lib/vice/C64/

I googeld this solution so if it does not work, you can google the errormessage you've got. There will be a solution...

i had the "vice" folder as workdir maybe it's because of that ...

Ok, I managed to get it working...

assuming you installed it in the usual way, that's to say into your sd card at local/emulators/vice

you have to add:
MenuItem vice
{
Name = " vice"
Executable = "./x64.dge"
WorkDir = "/usr/local/emulators/vice"
}
to your dmenu.cfg file

then into your local/emulators/vice you should find a file called vicerc, edit it and add the lines

ChargenName="data/C64/chargen"
KernalName="data/C64/kernal"
BasicName="data/C64/basic"

this way it works!
And it's quite impressive too... I tried a couple of games: Shinobi and Ghouls & Ghosts

Shinobi is pretty perfect while G&G suffers little slowdowns, but overall the emulation is precise.
I'll try some tweaks later...
