The Vic20 is working!

You have to change text in the Hellsing folder of Dmenu.
Change the emulator config.

Example:Change x64.dge into xvic.dge.

Vic20 emu has some probs but quite a lot of games are working!

Sometimes the emu won't de-attach a cartridge file(option maybe?).
So whatever you do,the same game keeps appearing.

Thanks for the tip. It led me in the right direction.
Heres what I did to get it working.
I edited the dmenu.cfg and added this section:
MenuItem Vic20
{
Icon = "res/emulators/c64.png"
Name = " Vic20"
Executable = "./xvic"
WorkDir = "/usr/local/emulators/vice"
}
It still wouldnt work. I had to copy the folder under /data/vic20 to the vice folder and then it started.
Couple of issues though.
1. All of the tap images I have tried so far get syntax errors in various places. The carts seem to work fine.
2. The display is just a little too far to the left. So instead of Ready it says eady. Tried toggling the center option in the emu but tha puts it too far to the right.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

You don't have to copy the files, just start the dge file instead of xvic, then everything is configured right, take this entry for full Vice (Vic-20,C64,Plus4).

MenuItem Vicea
{
Icon = "res/emulators/c64.png"
Name = " Vice C64"
Executable = "./x64.dge"
WorkDir = "/usr/local/emulators/vice"
}

MenuItem Viceb
{
Icon = "res/emulators/c64.png"
Name = " Vice Vic20"
Executable = "./xvic.dge"
WorkDir = "/usr/local/emulators/vice"
}

MenuItem Vicec
{
Icon = "res/emulators/c64.png"
Name = " Vice Plus4"
Executable = "./xplus4.dge"
WorkDir = "/usr/local/emulators/vice"
}

The wrong scaling is a known bug, no solution so far, maybe sweetlimre will fix it in the next release.

Ah. Very nice. Didnt know you could point to those.
I thought I knew a bit about Commodore , but I had never heard of the Plus4.
Just read the wiki article on it and I can understand why.
Regarding the other machines vice can emulate , are there any plans to get the PET working? Or is the Dingoo not capable.

The C16/116/Plus4 family were fine machines, had 128 colours (which was unusual for a Commodore machine at that time), a much improved basic interpreter (no more peeks and pokes needed to change colours, etc.) and a built in assembler monitor. If you are looking for a good game for this machine try P.O.D., this one was fantastic (and still is).
Even the Vic-20 is more powerful then the Pet, so it shouldn't be a problem to emulate a Pet on the Dingoo.
