Thanks, maybe you could write up a small tutorial for it ;)

as soon as it's done. but in a nutshell:

there's no need to unpack and repack hxf-files. all changes are done online without creating tempfiles etc.
just use my software and update your dingoo.

change language

file => open hxf-file

select "language" and all recognized words should appear. click on a word, edit it and change it by clicking replace. if you save memory by using shorter words the difference is show as "bytes left". you cannot use more memory than the normal languagefile.
all changes are saved immidiatly so backup your firmware.

change bootscreen

select bootscreens and hit change to replace the logon/logoff screen.

keep in mind all this can brick you dingoo

bye

take a look in the ccpmp.bin file at offset 0x02396a0

there's list of encodings and the corresponding *.bmf maybe you can change something

Well, i can see ASCII string followed by ASC_16x8.bmf. Scrolling down i can see ANSI string followed by cp1252_16.bmf, the file which has international characters. Now I don't know what exactly i should do. Hack and replace ASC_16x8.bmf with cp1252_16.bmf, or find where sets up ASCII or ANSI encodings.

Also i see Chinese languages are two, Chinese and Chinese (Bold) so perhaps encoding configuration are at language menu, but i don't know.
