I haven't looked at the gnuboy code but if it uses SDL for rendering it should be straightforward. ROTT uses SDL_SoftStretch() for the fullscreen effect and this works fine with minimal performance loss.

Quoting myself here, but looks like screen stretch might be trickier than I thought for emulators. I've just tried it with snes9x and the performance drop is severe, and because it is scaling vertical+horizontal without a filter it makes the graphics look horrid. ;)
