OpenLiero for Dingoo Linux

Postby zear on Thu Jul 02, 2009 7:06 pm

Yet another game release for today ;)
OpenLiero is the engine-rewrite for the cool old worms-like shooter Liero.

Download: archive mirror
It's staticly compiled, so it should work with every rootfs. Source included.
You will also need the original Liero datafiles.

The bots are rather dumb, but you still can configure the buttons for 2 players ;)

Just a suggestion, I dont know what toolchain and libraries your basing this off of, but you may want to add -msoft-float to your build if you arent using the latest toolchain I have posted. If your statically compiling and not using the msoft toolchain, thats sort of eliminating any benefits of it because then your linking in the non optimized libs.

It's segfaulting for me unfortunately...doesn't make much sense. Reminisence, super transball 2 and spout work.

Hey guys, I released a new version of OpenLiero.

Release #2 06/07/2009
* compiled with --msoft-float, possible speed improvements
* direction+jump mapped as dig (original left+right was impossible to press on a D-PAD)
* included LIERO.DAT config file with preconfigured controls

The download link on the dingoo archive still awaits for approval, but so far you can download it from this mirror.

I recorded a little movie showing OpenLiero in action, so if you ever wondered how does the gameplay look like, you can see now.

Apologies for moving the unit a bit away from the camera for some time. It was hard to both play, press the R button and keep an eye on the area that's being filmed :P

So, why haven't YOU downloaded your OpenLiero yet?

It crashes for me at the point in the menu where I configure controls. It's unfortunate because it looks cool.

You don't need to configure the controls. There's a LIERO.DAT file included in the release, which has all the controls preconfigured.
You should be careful not to overwrite it while copying the datafiles.

Have you ordered black version or the white one? I'm waiting for DX to get the black version in stock again to make my order... And when did you put the order?
