Mini SD Cards

Postby neilgeo on Tue May 19, 2009 12:19 pm

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a decent 8GB mini SD card? Also, has anyone else had any problems with their Dingoo not being able to read them? I read a couple of posts regarding this and wondered if it was a major issue?

I've only ever seen 4GB mini SD cards, and they're way more expensive than SD or Micro. Your best bet is to get a decent 8GB Micro SD with a mini adaptor. I would recommend Integral, Sandisk, and Kingston.

Use a Micro SD card and a mini SD to Micro SD adapter.
All Micro SD cards up to 16GB are compatible, but get a name-brand adapter because a shoddy adapter won't work properly.

Thanks for the advice, I suspected as much. I've used the Kingston Micro SD cards in the past so I think I will probably pick one up.

I bought an A-Data 8gb microsd from newegg.com just for the Dingoo. Was less than $20us shipped.

No problems

Peace

Edit: included mini and normal SD adapter too.

Wow, that's pretty good.

Chinavasion are selling 2gb Microsd + Micro-to-miniSD adapter for 11$ each. So, you've done well.

When you say...

Does that mean SDHC Cards, cos I don't know of any 16GB cards that aren't SDHC, Unless I'm not looking in the right places :)

SDHC just means SD High Capacity, any SD card 4GB and over will say it, all it means is that it wont work on all devices, but Dingoo will read it fine.

yes, SDHC is actualy structurally different to normal SD, which is why they arent supported by all devices. but under standdard SD architecture its not possible to fit more than 4gb in a sd card.

and from what i can gather, the dingoo does support SDHC, so 16gb micros should work.
