How do you pronounce 'Dingoo'?

Postby capt_bugaloo on Mon Aug 17, 2009 5:48 am

I would have thought that Dingoo is pronounced 'Din-goo', rhymes with 'boo'. But while watching some Youtube demos I noticed a couple of people pronouncing the name as 'Din-go', as in the Australian dog.

How do you say this name?

I say Din-goo. I've also heard people say Dingo, but idk. Maybe that's just how they speak. Or they just forget the second "O".

I say Dingo, Dingoo would sound weird in german. And i´m sure the Dingoo is related to the dog ;)

Well, firstly, for me, Dingoo sounds like an typical african name :-)

I say generally Dingo, although sometimes also I say Dingoo (voice's hit in last 'o', african style :-))

Tbh, it's probably one of the silliest names to come out since the attrociously-monickered Wii.

I refer to it as the A320...

I've always said 'Dingoo', rhymes with ding2, instead of 'Dingo', rhymes with bingo... because that's how it's spelled. Perhaps the pronunciation would be different in other languages? I've received a few odd looks when asking someone if they've seen my Dingoo... sounds kinda awkward. ^_^
Incidently, I pronounce the Linux distribution 'Dingux', rhymes with bingo, as in the French/Acadian tradition: Thibodaux (city in Lousiana), Pappadaux (popular restaurant here in Houston) and faux (fake).

I just call it an A-320 because 'Din-goo' sounds kind of stupid.

Depends on who I'm talking to really. I pronounce it as "Din-goo" but if the person I'm talking to is of lesser technologic intelligence (we've all met at least one of them), I usually just tell them it's a PMP.
