D-Pad difference between white and black models.-observation

Postby strider_mt2k on Fri May 01, 2009 2:22 am

Since I ended up with both white and black A320s, I've had a chance to play on both, and I've found a slight difference between the D-pads on them:

The black model feels slightly raised and has a slightly stiffer feel, a combination that makes it a little more playable on some games and generally the better feeling of the two for me
Let me be clear that the white model is still entirely playable and I have zero problems with it. I love 'em both.

It could be a coincidence or a difference in production runs, I don't know. I just figured I'd throw it out there.

Hmmm, thanks for the interesting nugget of information! Might have to look into the Black model as well, maybe sell my Y/B modified white one? hmmm...

i also have (had) one of each and agree with the d-pad analysis. the white dpad took little to no pressure to hit, whereas the black one definitely feels slightly stiffer (in a good way). having said that, i had no problems with my white one at all.

have to say though, the black dingoo looks so much smarter... very glad i decided to swap.

I only have the black one, but I must say that I'm very impressed with the D-pad. It's definitely as good as the DS pad and all the other consoles I've had. Put it this way, it's a million times better than the 360 pad!

I have to concur with the solid feeling of the black Dingoo's d-pad. I haven't tried a white one to compare it against, but I really prefer the Dingoo's d-pad to that of my DS Lite. The pad on the DSLite has always felt a bit spongy, very little resistance. In playing Garou: MotW on the Dingoo, I'm able to pull off my various special attacks 3/4 times with no problems. Not perfect on the diagonals, but a huge improvement.

Nothing is ever perfect. If you are really into those fighting games, and want some improvement for the dpad, you can get these like stick on replacement things that were meant for the PSP, but work fine for the Dingoo.

got a new white dingoo.
the d-pad is indeed stiffer and more raised then on the older one.
also the buttons are softer to press.not as clicky as on the old one.
another difference is a small number/letter combination printed on the case between the left speaker and the usb-port.
it says:
