Unmounting the A320

Postby rossi46 on Mon Aug 24, 2009 1:44 pm

Hi all. I use a Macbook for my computing needs and I have a slight concern about my A320 machine. When I plug it in via the USB port, it appears on the desktop no probs and I'm able to browse the folders, adding and deleting files without incident. I always unmount (or 'eject' in OS-X) the drive before unplugging the USB cable. What happens then, is that my A320 is locked with only the USB symbol on the screen, as if it was still plugged-in. I always have to press the reset button with a pin to get going again.

Is this normal? I"m worried about damaging the reset button, tbh.

Ironically, I once pulled the USB cable out by accident, before unmounting the device, and it didn't lock-up. I got the Mac warning about potentially losing or corrupting data, but all was okay.

cheers

Paul

What firmware version are you running? Are you using the official 1.1 firmware?

I would recommend that you update to official version 1.1 then.
I had problems with my Dingoo locking up with disconnecting from USB (when I installed the fixed Megadrive emulator) using 1.03 which was fixed with 1.1.

Nope! Now running v1.1 (and had to find out manually how to change back to English language...) and it's still locking up when I disconnect the USB.

I go:

Right click - eject A320 - wait til icon disappears - pull out cable.

Dingoo is locked until I reset it with a pin :(

Any ideas?

btw - this is on a Mac, not Windfail (windows)

Eject is not the same as disconnect (at least it isn't on Windows).
Let's say you have a memory card reader. If you disconnect it (safely remove hardware) you will disconnect the entire unit. If you eject it, it will simply stop reading the actual memory (the card).

See if there's another way to disconnect usb devices.

I am having the exact same problem, however I am running Windows 7 RTM.
I use the 'safely remove hardware' and from then on it's stuck...

No problems when I just jank it out though :?

i know it's not the best thing to do, but i always unplug my dingoo without going through safely remove hardware (i run xp at home and at work). i've never had any problems doing this, but i do backup my saves frequently just in case :)
