OVERCLOCKING.. Why it doesn't always work for everyone

Postby thorn_1983 on Thu Aug 13, 2009 7:08 am

Hi guys,
i have this theory... My Dingoo has the overclocking app on it but only seems to work when plugged in. The best example game is Mortal Kombat II. If I try to overclock it without it plugged into power, I don't get any better results, but if I plug it into the wall and overclock it the results are fantastic.

I am running the latest 9331 LCD with official firmware 1.1. I have tried the custom Firware without any luck, so my theory is that those with the newer LCD controller cannot overclock their CPU's unless plugged into the wall. As i said, this is jsut a theory as I am out of all other options as to why I can't overclock my CPU purely on battery power.

So if you have a 9331 LCD A320 and you don't seem to get any results with the overclocking app, plug it into the wall and then try it and let me know how it goes. And if you do have a 9331 and the overclocking app works on battery power alone, please let me know as well so I scrap this theory and start again.

Also for those with the older LCD controller that use the overclocking app, your feedback is also welcome as I would like as much info as possible as to why this may be the case.

there was a solution to this which involved holding down your buttons in a certain way or something. search the forum.

also, I THINK the reason o/c varies is due to the manufacturing process not being entirely accurate. Whereas some cpus will overclock better than others etc. Something like that lol. My dingoo hits 408mhz but at 430 it will freeze after a little while. In dingux when o/c to 430mhz hte screen just blinks at me. ><.

i might try the power idea if i can find a power adapter lying around. Annoying hk plugs ><

Yeah, the solution was to hold down the A button after activationg the overclocker. Trickiest moment is when you have to release the button quickly to go to "interesting games". However, overclocking in dingux is much easier and gives great results too.
