My A320 died...

Postby DDJ on Mon May 18, 2009 11:03 am

Yesterday in the middle when I was updating my Dingo to the latest custom firmware version I had some strange problems with Vista (which suddenly couldn't recognize the USB port aymore) so I tried for may hours to solve this problem... Now the battery of my A320 died and I have no firmware installed so I have no way to charge it... I tried everything but it simply doesn't charge anymore. I think I just have to garbage it now... :(

But that sounds wierd, that it would just die... It doesnt even start with power from the usb-cable  ?

You could always try to "haxx" a new battery into it!

In order to charge the battery I think that the A320 needs some sort of firmware installed. My firmware update stopped in the middle and now the battery died (so I can't even try to flash the firmware again).... :(

Yes but still most similar devices can be powered from external power even if battery is dead and not charging. What happens when you attach A320 to PC via USB and then hold B and reset A320 (via pin in reset hole)? Does it come up as usb device so it can be flashed?

Exactly, one could think it SHOULD work to run it powered by usb cable, but cant confirm it tho :| !

yikes, that's odd...i wonder if it was because vista suddenly stopped recognizing the usb port or if the dingoo itself caused vista to freak out. does the port recognize any other devices now when you plug them in?

2-3 power wires in an usb-cable, these should give power wheter vista finds/mounts the device or not, or whatever is wrong :| !

Try another usb-cable perhaps?

Whatever you do don't trash it! If you can't get it going, keep it for parts or I'll pay shipping to send it here and I'll use it for parts or try to get it going. Just don't throw it. As a matter of fact someone on here neede a case after dropping theirs.
