clrmamepro is a tricky tool, that is useless, if you want to roll back your current romset to an older version like 0.37b, cause the reason for the different roms among others is, that many chips have been redumped and your dumps aren't the one used in the old version.
Here clrmamepro can't help you, it's mainly to keep your romset up to date, not to roll back to older versions.
You should have no problems with the Romset for the GP2x Version of Mame4All, I use this set myself. You have to copy the ZIP Files into the roms folder of Mame4All, that is all. If Mame doesn't recognize your Rom, cause it is to new or to old, it complains. If the screen only goes black, then you haven't set up the Mame4All correct.

Nope, no Afterburner in Mame 0.37b, unfortunately no Afterburner in the actual version of FBA320 either, but maybe Slaanesh will add Afterburner support there, in fact the original task of Final Burn was emulating After Burner

That's good news! In the mean while I'll play one of the AB2 clones (snes). BTW: downloading that 2.1 GB of Mame roms via Torment went faster that I thought. And they do work! Yippee! I really love that perky little Dingoo machine.
