Hi from the Midlands, UK

I had an email this morning asking why I hadn't posted yet! So here I am.!!!
FYI - Tiro is latin for beginner. I think that when your into computers your always learning new stuff - so i always feel like a beginner!

I bought my dingo last wednesday from dingoo888 and it arrived Thursday. £69.99 inc p+p
So far I have loaded various roms on it (love coolspot!).

I want to put linux on and have been watching z_man vids on youtube . So looking at Dignux.

My questions are
1) How are games ported? eg SNES to file , PC to file.
2) What do I need to get into developing stuff? (I am a complete noob but like fiddling with stuff). (ok I'm not that much of a noob, more more of a hardware builder and into dualbooting). I've tried JAVA and VBscript but there's a gap in my knowledge and don't no all the steps from what is needed to start to installing app onto dingoo.
3) What exciting things can I next do with my dingoo?

Thanks!
Emma
4) Once linux is on, can other apps be used apart from games?

well hi there from just under london :D

2: for developing stuff, you should probably learn the basics of C/C++ , how to compile properly on linux (the use of makefiles etc), and general programming theory if you want to write your own stuff/the thing that needs porting requires some moderate dissection to work.

so pretty much, take a programming course, or online tutorials etc

4: the only limit is the 32MB of ram, and your imagination, anythings possible, apart from a few hardware limitations etc
