One is never too old or too young to play one's first Atari game. ;-) Some of the graphics are so crappy that you'd never guess what they are supposed to represent if you don't own the game's manual. Take "Superman" on the Atari for instance. Hilarious!

Bus some are simply addictive. I'd recommend 'Asteroids' and 'Phoenix'.

Berzerk, Missile Command, Pitfall, Empire Strikes Back, Adventure... yeah there are some great old games for the 2600. There is a very active homebrew scene (for example, the 2600 version of Ladybug is very good) too.
